 Unreleased Jackson Song

TMZ.com has made available a 25-second snippet of the track , entitled A Place with No Name, and says it is unclear when it was recorded.

The lyrics and the tune are similar to the hit ballad A Horse with No Name by the group America.

Jackson had reportedly been given permission by America to rework the track, which reached number one in 1971.

"The band was honoured that Michael chose to do their song and they hope it becomes available for all Michael's fans to hear," America's manager Jim Morey told TMZ.com.

Mr Morey was also Jackson's manager in the late 1980s and early 1990s, according to TMZ.com.

Jackson's death, at the age of 50 from an apparent cardiac arrest, has fuelled sales of his music worldwide.

There are rumoured to be thousands of unreleased recordings by the King of Pop that have not yet surfaced.

Meanwhile, interest in Jackson memorabilia has grown dramatically since his death.

An Andy Warhol portrait of the singer is on the auction block at a New York art gallery.

The 30in by 26in painting shows a smiling Jackson in a red jacket from his 1980s Thriller days and is owned by a private collector.
